My name is Guillermo Hernandez Martinez. I'm a Mexican-born visual journalist currently based in Brooklyn, New York and working for The Players' Tribune as Associate Photo Producer.

In 2013, I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with degrees in Journalism and History, and then moved to New York to intern, and eventually work full-time for, Sports Illustrated and Golf Magazine.

I moved back to Texas in 2014, got married and started a personal project documenting high school football in the Lone Star State, "When In Texas", for which I was recognized in the 2015 PDN Photo Annual.

My wife and I then moved to Springfield, Mo., where I worked as a staff photographer for the Springfield News-Leader for over two years and was awarded several regional APME awards for photography and writing.

I love shooting football, playing guitar and nerdy board games.
