Soccer photos and editing woes / by Guillermo Hernandez Martinez

When I said I would post weekly I may have been overconfident. Better late than never I guess. Today I'd like to share some photos taken at the New York Red Bulls vs New England Revolution match on Oct. 5, which seems like so long ago. I'm mainly posting them because today I have the opportunity to shoot them again as the Houston Dynamo come into town for the second leg of the Eastern Conference semifinals. Don't tell anyone at the stadium, but I'll be silently cheering for the Dynamo to get their first victory ever at Red Bull Arena, even if that would mean no more football for me this year.

You may be thinking these photos look super weird, and it is probably because in the editing process I threw my computer out the window in frustration. For some reason I had a myriad of trouble editing these photographs, and they came out looking weird and dirty. However, given that it'll be almost two months since this game I figured I should post them anyway and get on with other sports I've shot.

The game was actually quite entertaining, with Montreal finding a 2-1 lead in the last ten minutes of the game thanks to a well-shot penalty kick and a panicked Red Bulls defensive line. However, Tim Cahill was somehow able to head in a tying goal in what seemed to be the 97th minute, and madness befell the terribly lit Red Bull Arena.

I'm looking forward to tonight's match and after shooting a number of different sports in the last month I feel like all the experience under my belt will help me finally get something quite interesting and not as hard to edit.
